Windsor
As I begin going out to explore, I’ll get into a groove of how I conduct my reviews. For now, I’m still figuring out that process. Yesterday, I hit up a local favorite of mine for lunch with my mom. I thought I’d try to throw together a bit of an impromptu review with some pictures from my iPhone and some amateur observations from yours truly.
I remember coming here as a kid; the kids meals came out on these divided plates with compartments for each part of the dish. I have since grown into the adult menu, usually opting for the Backyard Burger: Windsor Style - add pickles, of course. I can’t say I’m always a fan of a messy burger, but the caramelized onion and perfectly seasoned patty melt together so well that it’s worth the trip to wash your hands after. The rest of the menu isn’t insanely long, which is a good thing in my eyes. There’s something for everyone here, which is fitting of their tagline “Everyone is Welcome”.
The location and ambience are hard to beat. The restaurant, along with its sister concepts, are tucked on either side of Central Avenue, between Camelback and Missouri. Windsor’s dark, cool atmosphere is a refreshing escape from the blazing heat outside and the outdoor patio is a nice reminder of better, more enjoyable weather ahead. I’d be interested in returning later in the year, to enjoy the fresh air while protected under the shade structure above. The aesthetic transfers well to the patio, keep the dark but welcoming environment seen behind the door.
I left feeling incredibly impressed and excited to come back for another meal; the staff were kind and attentive, and the prices seemed average for a meal away from home. I highly recommend!
Stepping back into the heat, leaves one excited to see the ice cream parlor directly next-door. My review of Churn is coming soon!
More in-depth and better quality reviews are on the way, but this is where we’re starting! Thanks for the support on my first post!
