Jingle at JW Desert Ridge
Looking for some winter break fun? Look no further than Jingle at JW Desert Ridge! This holiday experience gives you a taste of everything you could want, right here in Phoenix!
When I was planning out The Holiday Edit, I was looking a variety of different Entertainment opportunities. Christmas at the Princess, CitySkate, etc. None, however, seemed to be as inclusive and expansive as Jingle at JW. With a general admission ticket ($29), you get access to the ice skating rink (skates included), gingerbread house displays, snow tubing, photo ops, bounce houses, train rides, Hanukkah activities, and more! Parking is not included, and I probably should’ve asked if they validated, so maybe add that to your list.
A few nights ago, my mom, sister, and I made our way up to Desert Ridge to see what all the hype was about. Confidently, I could say that we were not disappointed. We headed straight for the ice skating rink, which was what we were most excited for. I’m not that graceful on skates, but luckily the rink is pretty small. It wasn’t super busy, so I had space to experiment on the skates and get a feel for how they worked. The ice was a little uneven, which didn’t help, but it wasn’t so bad. I only fell twice! Next, we went over to the snow tubing. It was a very tiny hill, but it was still fun to slide down it. We also took in some of the light displays and stopped to take some photos throughout the property. We didn’t ride the train or look for the bounce houses, but they were probably better suited for little kids anyway.
All the activities here are great for families and groups, but definitely bundle up since a majority is outside. None of it is super big, but that’s one of the trade-offs when there are so many things to do. I liked looking at it as getting a little taste of everything. Very rarely do we get to experience these winter activities in Phoenix, so it’s fun to try it all!
Open at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge until January 3, this is a great way to spend an evening! Check it out before it’s gone!
Unfortunately, I was so focused on getting videos for Instagram Reels, that I overlooked getting actual photos to put on the website; so enjoy watching that instead!
