Phoestivus
“Uh oh, I have no idea what to get for my friend!” Well, look no further than Phoenix’s annual holiday market, ‘Phoestivus’!
The market, hosted by Downtown Phoenix Farmers Markets, is home to over 170 local vendors and activities. For their sixteenth year, the market moved to Arizona Center, giving vendors and visitors alike, plenty of room to explore and get to know each other. The variety of goods here is unlike anything you’ll see elsewhere. Expect to see candles, soaps, art, food, beverages, ornaments, clothes, and much more. These local businesses bring out the big guns, and you will surely find something for whoever you’re shopping for.
After planning my visit, I was surprised to find out that the market actually runs for two nights. I went on the first night, and got there around the time it started, in hopes of missing any major crowds. Fortunately, it wasn’t very busy. I parked in the Arizona Center garage, right where I needed to be. It was only $5 for the hour I spent, which definitely isn’t bad for parking nowadays. Making the rounds, I stopped for a coffee in the food truck section; of course, I got a hot latte. I didn’t end up buying anything, but I had fun looking at all the offerings from different vendors.
A few years ago, I used to make upcycled vinyl record bowls from scratched/warped LPs. I love attending these events in any capacity, and it was a bit nostalgic to be back at a craft market like this! People put a ton of hard work and effort into their pieces, so you’re definitely getting bang for your buck out here.
Phoestivus is such a cool event, and definitely a great opportunity to check some people off of your gift list! Take a stop by Phoestivus next year to explore the festival and see some pretty cool stuff! I had so much to look at, that I seemingly forgot to take any good pictures, so enjoy what I was able to get.
