October State of the Project
WOW! I can’t believe October is coming to a close! As I reflect on this whirlwind month, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made with my project. As I write this, I have 139 followers on Instagram, and over 300 views across my website. These numbers can be hard to comprehend at times, but I’m grateful for the support I’ve received thus far on my project. Over the last month, I’ve gotten to work on my writing and exploring. I’ve visited numerous places and I’m trying my best to nail down my writing style and length.
For October, I’m proudest of the interviews I’ve conducted. They’ve been a lot more fun than I was expecting! I’ve gotten to see some super cool places and catch up with friends I haven’t seen in a while. Going in, I didn't have any expectations for myself regarding interviews; and I still don’t. I’m not sure how many I want to complete or what their final purpose will be. In all honesty, I just think of someone and reach out to schedule a time. I can definitely improve on this. Over the next few months, my goal is to make a schedule and be proactive about contacting potential interviewees.
What’s next on the docket for me is broadening my horizons and developing my content. More specifically, I’m going to try new forms of content, like Reels and short form video to promote my brand across channels. No ideas are set in stone yet, and I’m going to try some new things to see what I like. Maybe I’ll work on a more comprehensive social media presence, rather than directing all of that traffic to my website? Maybe I’ll start an email newsletter? I’m workshopping with all these things and more, and I’m excited to see how my project will change and grow over the next few months.
As always, any input and feedback is always appreciated. And I ALWAYS need new recommendations of places to go! My first Reel is up on my Instagram page and the Outdoors category is OPEN! With everything up and running, I’m looking forward to what’s next.
