Case Study Coffee Lounge
I know, I know, the last post in the Dining category was also about a coffee shop; but I needed a quick caffeine hit and a place to review, so why not kill two birds with one stone? While I was out and about, I stopped at Case Study Coffee Lounge - a quirky and DELICIOUS coffee shop just off Camelback and 16th Street with ample room to work and socialize.
Mentioned by a few of my friends and family members, I’ve always wanted to check out this spot. As we were running errands, my mom and I decided to stop in for a quick drink. They usually close at 4pm, so we hurried our way over so we would have at least a little time to sit and chat. Their fall drinks were thankfully still available, and I grabbed an iced Maple Sea Salt Latte, with oat milk - duh. Since it was near close, it took a second for our drinks to be ready, but it was very much worth the wait. I’m not a huge fan of super sweet drinks, and this latte struck a nice balance of being flavorful but not overpoweringly sugary.
When we were standing at the counter ordering, the space seemed remarkably tiny for how popular it seems to be. Turning the corner, however, exposes a much larger seating area with low lighting, laptops, and full tables. Case Study was imagined as a space where people could come together to appreciate the environment, rather than their screen. Each piece of furniture in the lounge is handcrafted and made to be admired. The friendly staff bring this same attention to detail when making coffee, focusing on the art of the perfect brew. The expansive space is rather cozy and would be a great place to catch up with someone or get some work done. As it cools off, I’d really like to go back with some more time to spend; a hot coffee and some chill time is always a good idea. Case Study also offers a variety of snacks and food; not much, but it will definitely cover all the bases if you’re looking for a quick bite. I was really intrigued by their homemade Apple Butter pop tart, and I will for sure be coming back to try it before it’s gone.
Even though my stop was pretty quick, I had a blast at this place! Case Study is a unique space that definitely deserves the hype. Though it seems like a great work and study spot, I would definitely recommend this place if you want some time away from the screen. The mid-century furniture is beautiful and makes for a comfortable spot to catch up with friend or to take a break from a hectic day.
