Cornish Pasty Co.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to show you this favorite restaurant of mine; let me introduce you to Cornish Pasty! If you’re looking for a unique atomosphere and delicious food, this is definitely the stop for you.

On this particular day, I made a stop at Cornish Pasty’s Old Town Scottsdale location, conveniently located near my job at Fashion Square! It’s been such a long time since I’ve been to Cornish Pasty, so I was happy to see that the menu hadn’t changed. A more comprehensive review would’ve probably included a pasty, but I had to go with my favorite: the tomato soup! It’s sharp, has good flavor, and is easily devoured. Pictured below, I already started digging in before I remembered to snap a photo. I sat on the patio, it was a little chilly but the soup warmed me up pretty quick. The best addition to the bowl of soup is the housemade bread, I love dipping it into the soup. I should probably broaden my horizons and try more things on the menu, but I played it safe today. I didn't have much time since I had to get to work, but this lunch definitely fueled me up before I had to head over.

The inside of the restaurant definitely tells more of the story of how Cornish Pasty came to be. Pasties originated as a meal for miners in Cornwall, England. The pasty has origins dating back to the 13th century, and Cornish Pasty holds true to the history of the baked turnover. It’s fun to look at the old mining photos on the wall, and the dark aesthetic definitely fits the theme. Their menu has such a comprehensive offering of pasty fillings, so there’s sure to be something enticing for anyone who walks through their doors. At many of their locations, you’re able to see into the kitchen, and I always like getting to see the process of making the pasties.

With ten locations in Arizona and Nevada, there are plenty of opportunities to try this place. There’s two more opening soon, too! The menu is comprehensive, leaving room to find a pasty that’s just right for you! If, for some reason, that doesn’t sound enticing to you, there are plenty of other items that I’m sure you’ll find delicious! This place is definitely worth the stop, their food is comforting and will leave you wanting to try more - check it out!
